Week 2 Marketing - Listening Exercise

Topic 1: Social Listening

  1. Google Chromebook.
  2. Cheap, efficient, branded laptop with ease of use.
  3. 3 Things people are saying on Social Media
    1. Post - People are saying how good the Chromebook is for students of all ages, a good example of this is how I am a student and I have really loved my personal Chromebook so far.
    2. Post - People are talking about the potential for a 4K Chromebook on the horizon, there isn't a very good "example" of this, but it is a very interesting thing that people are saying right now about the future of the Chromebook.
    3. Post - People are talking about how some of them are having problems with the OS and its compatibility with some google chrome documents, I don't have any examples of this personally, but people are explaining their problems with pictures, so it must be true in some cases.
  4. The products they are trying to sell is Chromebooks, from any particular dealer. Thats the best part about the Chromebook brand is that multiple companies produce their own version of the Chromebook. This allows a lot of variance and allow the consumer to pick a brand that they might already follow in the space.
  5. The aspects that relate to the marketing are simply all the things that make the Chromebook good in the first place. That could be anything from the price points, durability, ease of use, speed with selected programs, and differentiation with brands. Examples of any of these qualities can be found on any brand that is selling the Chromebook, or even Google's own site selling the Chromebook. Some challenges that face the Chromebook mostly comes down to the fact that the Chromebook uses its own Chrome OS. This operating system isn't windows, which in many ways limits it right from the start.
  6. If I was a brand manager for the Chromebook, I would respond to customers with a lot of positivity since most of what is being said on social media is very good things about the brand.
